Birthdays
It is my cousin's birthday, Gail, and it is my nephew's birthday, Gabriel. She is older than he, by a bunch. They've only met once some years ago when he came through Virginia on the way to a reunion. Same day, different people.
birthday's are like that really when you think about it. They mark the passing of time. When you've had 58 before, as with Gail, you remember some, but not oall.
I remember when Gabriel was born in AZ because I was there, with the rest of the birthing team, and watched his first breath. It was amazing, it was awesome. the wind had blown hard until the moment he was born and then it stopped. His Aunt Helene and I were crying... but it was an awesome moment.
That first breath. amazing.
And so on birhtdays we celebrate that first breath and pray that there are millions and millions and millions more that come to them...
God abide
