Misty Morning

We slept out on the hill one night at the camp in Pennsylvania. It was great fun. We planned to do it because there was a full moon. Wow was there a full August moon. It was awesome. We had waited for the moonrise and were not disappointed. In fact, we ended up having to move to the porch to sleep because it was just so very bright once it was up we couldn't sleep. The meadow where we were was beautiful in the moonlight. We sat up and talked. The girls remembered that for the whole week.

The morning came and we looked out from the porch to see the meadow now covered with thick dew. It was wetter than rain because it clung to each plant. There was a mist that kept you from seeing down the hill. One of the girls said it was like the world in moonlight in the daytime. An apt description.

The mist this morning and the heavy dew reminded me of that day many years ago. That un-clarity about the world or what is happening in the world. That uncertainity about things that are familiar.

Today, I wish you clarity about your life and what is going on. I wish you joy when you discover the realities. And yet... I wish you the softness of the moonlight and the peacefulness of a misty morning.

God abide
